Radix Fibrotech is a fibre optic cable assembly manufacturer in Pune, India. It builds MTP/MPO trunks and patch cords, single-mode and multimode patch assemblies, armoured and tactical cables, broadcast hybrid cables, mil-aero and harsh-environment assemblies, and specialist connectors, all to the customer's drawing, with insertion loss and return loss measured per channel.
Two kinds of fibre optic cable manufacturer
The phrase fiber optic cable manufacturer covers two different businesses. Some plants draw glass fibre and extrude bulk cable sold by the drum. Others take cable and connectors and build terminated, tested assemblies: patch cords, trunks, harnesses and field cables ready to plug in. Buyers searching for fibre cable manufacturers in India often need the second kind without knowing it, because an installed network needs terminated assemblies at every patch point.
Radix Fibrotech is an assembly manufacturer in Pune. It designs, terminates and tests optical assemblies at 165 Shukrawar Peth, Pune, and supplies wholesalers, dealers, distributors and OEM integrators.
What is built in Pune
| Family | Examples | Industry |

| Patch assemblies | LC, SC, FC and ST, single-mode and multimode | All |
| Armoured and tactical | Duplex and 6-fibre armoured tactical cable, tactical HMA cable, cable reels | Defence, campus, outdoor |
| Broadcast | SMPTE hybrid camera cable, SDI cable, fibre-SDI converters, opticalCON, 8K HDMI active optical cable | Broadcast and live production |
| Rugged and mil-aero | Mil-aero assemblies, MIL and ODC connectors, expanded beam connectors, outdoor and harsh-environment assemblies | Defence, energy, offshore |
| Specialist fibre | PCF 200/230 µm HFBR and SMA, POF HFBR and TOCP 200, medical and laser-sensor SMA connectors | Industrial, medical, sensing |
| Copper companions | CAT6 patch and snake cables, XLR snakes | Data centre, broadcast |
The full list is on the products page. Most orders are not catalogue items: length, fibre count, polarity, breakout, jacket and marking are taken from the buyer's drawing or BOM, as described under custom fibre optic assemblies.
How to evaluate a fibre assembly supplier
Price lists say little about an assembly supplier. These checks say more.
- Does the supplier terminate and test, or resell? Ask where the assemblies are built and who answers technical questions about them.
- Is test data per channel or per batch? A per-channel report with insertion loss and return loss lets you trace a fault to one fibre. Radix reports per channel.
- Is the design confirmed in writing? Fibre, connector, jacket, strain relief and bend radius should be confirmed against the drawing before manufacture, so disagreements surface on paper.
- Is there traceability? Lot and batch identification recorded against the order lets a later problem be traced to the components used.
- Which components are used? Ask which fibre and connector types are fitted and whether the drawing's approved parts will be followed or substituted.
- Will the supplier say no? A supplier that questions an unworkable bend radius or loss target saves a failed installation.
What to ask for in a quote
| Ask for | Why |
|---|---|
| Maximum insertion loss per mated pair | Needed for the channel loss budget; TIA-568 allows up to 0.75 dB per pair, and many designs assume less |
| Return loss by polish type | Matters for single-mode, video and PON links |
| Sample test report | Shows what each assembly will ship with |
| End-face inspection method | Many buyers cite IEC 61300-3-35 criteria for acceptance |
| Cable bend radius, crush rating and outer diameter | Confirms the cable suits the route and containment |
| Delivery date and packing | Agreed in the quote for each order |
| Material or compliance declarations your project requires | Ask for the specific documents your contract names |

Buying from India and for export
Buyers in India can discuss a drawing directly with the team that builds it, in the same time zone, and settle questions about connectors or routes before the order is placed. The India market page has more on supply within India.
Export buyers receive assemblies packed to their packaging specification, with documentation prepared for international freight and customs. Agree the Incoterm, the packing (coiled, reeled or boxed per assembly), the labelling language and the documents your import process needs at quote stage. Test reports travel with the goods.

Questions to expect from the manufacturer
A manufacturer that builds to drawing will come back with questions before it quotes. Expect to be asked what the link carries and at what data rate, what the environment does to the cable (heat, flexing, crush, water, chemicals), what the far end mates with, how long the assembly has to last, and which standard the installation is held to. Answers to those questions decide the fibre, connector, jacket and strain relief. If a supplier quotes a complex assembly without asking any of them, the quote is based on assumptions you have not seen.
Starting an order
Send the drawing, BOM or a description of the link and its environment. State quantities per configuration, the test data you need and any standard the installation is held to. Use the request a quote page, or email the drawing directly.
Questions buyers ask
Does Radix Fibrotech make bulk fibre cable?
Radix builds terminated, tested fibre optic assemblies and connectors: patch cords, trunks, breakouts, harnesses and field cables. If you need bulk cable on a drum for field termination, say so in the enquiry and describe the application.
Where is Radix Fibrotech located?
165, Shukrawar Peth, Laxmidatta Apartments, Shinde Ali, Near Kelkar Museum, Pune 411002, India. Assemblies are built and tested at this facility.
Can Radix supply customers outside India?
Yes. Assemblies are packed to the buyer's packaging specification with documentation for international freight and customs. Agree the Incoterm and documents in the quote.
What test data comes with each assembly?
Insertion loss and return loss are measured on each channel, and the report is supplied with the order. If your project needs a specific report format, include it with the enquiry.
Do you supply distributors and OEMs?
Yes. Radix supplies wholesalers, dealers, distributors and OEM integrators. Cable marking and labels can be specified on the drawing to suit your own part numbering.
